A few UCSD facts:
UCSD is ranked the 8th best public university in the US.
The National Research Council ranks UCSD 10th in the nation in
the quality of its faculty and graduate programs. (The top ten,
in order, are: UC Berkeley, MIT, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford,
CalTech, Yale, Chicago, Cornell and UCSD.)
UCSD is ranked 13th in the world by a study by Shanghai Jioatong
University. This is ahead of the University of Tokyo, University
of Pennsylvania, and UCLA, among others. 20,000 undergraduate
and 3,000 graduate students.
Most popular undergraduate majors: biology, computer science,
economics, psychology, political science, electrical
engineering, communications, applied mechanics and engineering,
bioengineering, chemistry and biochemistry.

English Language Programs
Short and long term programs aimed at quickly teaching students
basic through advanced English skills. Courses cover fun
conversation up to rigorous academic preparation.
Certificate Programs
Programs for international professionals and students alike.
These classes vary in length from 10 weeks to 9 months, with
different areas of focus including Business Management,
Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and TEFL.
Design-Your-Own (DYO) Programs
DYO programs enable non-admitted students to attend a full-time
program of regular UCSD or UCSD Extension courses, or a
combination of English language and UCSD or UCSD Extension
courses.
Summer Session
For students with strong English skills who wish to attend
university level classes during the summer.
Housing Options
Choosing the right place to live during your time at UCSD is
very important. If you're not happy with your living
arrangements, you won't enjoy your time here-- and that almost
certainly means you won't learn as much.
